Craft Olympic Racer Caroline Ryan to compete in New Zealand

Craft rider Caroline Ryan will represent Ireland in the Elite Track World Cup in Cambridge, New Zealand, tomorrow (Friday, December 4).

Ryan will race in the Women’s Team Pursuit where she and her team mates will be racing for points to qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

Racing takes place from December 4-6 and the women’s event starts on Friday morning local time.

If they qualify in the top eight, they will compete again on Saturday.

High performance coach Brian Nugent said: “This will be a very competitive world cup as we come an important stage in the Olympic qualification. The squad have been working very hard and making progress every time they race. This will be an important race for them, but they’re ready for it.”
